July 2024 144 Market Report

Aggregated 144 Market Volume

In July 2024, the total reported value of Form 144s increased by 121% from July of last year; this was primarily due to the dramatic rise of nearly 300% in the value of Form 144s pursuant to Rule 10b5-1. The number of planned filings stayed largely the same, however, the number of shares filed under a 10b5-1 plan increased by 62%. On the other hand, in comparison to June 2024, the total value of filings fell by 29%, accompanied by a 27% drop in number of shares filed and a 17% decrease in the number of filings. Similarly, from June to July of 2023, the value of Form 144s declined 55% month-over-month, which may indicate a yearly trend, as many insiders are subject to a blackout period until Q2 earnings are released.
